I have an old PXI system that I would like to use as a VeriStand testing system. It has a PXI-1000G chassis, a PXI-8105 embedded controller that runs windows XP and bunch of useful modules. What modern controller can I replace the PXI-8105 with to use the modules and chassis with VeriStand? I don't want a controller that runs windows. I just need something I connect to my computer using an Ethernet cable.

What general criteria would I need to look at when picking a replacement controller that would work with that chassis and modules?

Spiyah,
While I recommend you also get a new chassis, I can help you pick a new controller that slots in where the old one used to be. You'll need to make sure the bus connection is PXI rather than PXIe, and that it runs LabVIEW Real-Time. You can look at our selection of controllers below:

Narrowing down by those requirements, we land on the 8820 and 8840 as your options.
