Hello,
We have a PXIe 8840, currently has windows 7 installed. We purchased a Win 10 IOT Field Upgrade kit(multi-language), from NI after asking them the best way to upgrade the OS and drivers on the 8840.
The USB drive does show up in BIOS and I can direct the system to boot from USB, however, I'm getting an error "non system disk or disk error, No bootable partition in table"
We have the USB stick, looks like the file system is intact because I can see the files if I mount it to my workstation.
Is there something I need to do with the USB disk (like move a file to the root directory) before it will boot?
Is there another way to initiate the OS install? Any advice is greatly appreciated! Attachment shows the software kit and context I'm referencing.

I installed the USB drive, then went into the BIOS and selected the drive as first boot priority. At first i though the USB was in because because of it width, it wasn't fully inserted.
I rebooted and at first got an error. But then i selected the UEFI option of the USB device and that worked.

I'm going to try this NOW.
Thanks so much for the reply!

Unfortunately this wasn't the problem in my case.
There is no mechanical interference, USB drive is fully seated before I attempt to boot.
I do appreciate the help! I contacted NI and they suggested I try to boot to the USB drive on a spare PC. I did that and I got the same error, so it looks like this drive is defective.

Hello Dylan,
this issue is caused by a BIOS version not yet compatible to Windows 10. You can fix this by upgrading the controller's BIOS to a sufficiently new version as described here:

The BIOS upgrade procedure and the BIOS upgrade download links are inside this KB.
Best regards,
