PCI-8335 Board Driver required? Windows not recognizing board.

I have installed a PCI-8335 board on a Windows 2000 box. However, Windows is not recognizing the board. By this I mean that it does not appear in the Device Manager explorer and I never get a link light when the board is connected to the PXI rack. I am guessing that a specific (3rd party) driver is required (as usual) even though I have installed all the MAX and driver stuff that comes with LabVIEW 7.0. Does anybody know where I can get the driver? Or a solution to the problem?

Just a quick question, but did you install the software before you installed the hardware? The installation works out better if you do.

Is it showing up in the device manager of Windows? If not, you may need to re-seat the board.

If you can see it in device manager but not MAX, you might have a driver issue. You should select it from device manager, right click, and select properties. I believe that it gives you some information about both the nardware and the software installed.

Let us know what you find.

Thanks for the suggestions.

However, I have tried to re-seat the card and also rescanned the machine for new hardware but no new hardware is ever found not even for non-plug and play. Maybe it is already detected and I am unaware of the type of device it will show up as in the Device Manager.

The 8335 will not show up as a device itself and does not require a driver for base functionality. Ensure that you have the boards powered on in the correct order (PXI then PCI). After powering on the PCI side, your board should have the power and link light on (the link is established). Once your computer boots, Windows should be able to recognize any devices after the PXI 8335 and install the drivers for them.

I am having the same issue as CodeMonkey that my workstation does not recognize PCI-8335 installed on WIN 7 after installing "PXI Platform services 15.1".

What is the correct software or driver that needs to be used for PCI-8335 installed on WIN 7 or WIN 10?

Thanks
