I have inherited a PXI-1042 chassis with PXI-8184 controller. The controller's front panel power on led does NOT light and it doesn't to have any power. I do not have any schematics. I have checked the Power Supply voltages on the PXI-1042 on the backplane, the +5 is good, +12 is good, -12 is good, 3.3V is good.
However the FAN +12 is measuring +4.4V dc, I don't think this is used in the controller but could it be causing it to not power up?
Is there any way I can check the voltages on the controller?
Is the failure of a backplane a likely failure point?
