Hello,
I have a question regarding using older PXI cards with Win7 OS PC's. I have an application here at work which is utilizing several PXI cards in a PXI-1044 chassis. This application is currently controlled by a PC running Win XP. We want to upgrade the PC to Win 7 and I want to see if the existing PXI cards may still work (PXI 2566/PXI6123). I see on the NI site for these cards that they don't list Win 7 as a compatible OS.
I don't take the written literature at their word since previously for another project I was using a PXI chassis and Analog Input PXI 4204 cards which also don't list as being Win 7 compatible. (see link below)
http://www.ni.com/pdf/products/us/pxi_4204.pdf
I successfully converted that PC to Win 7 without any compatibility problems with that PXI card so I figured I may not have any problems for the two in question.
Any feedback on this would be very helpful? If they will end up working I do not want to buy all new cards if possible since there are about 12 that I would need to replace all together.
Thanks,
DanHoss

Hey DanHoss,
Those cards should be fine in Windows 7. The best place to check compatibility with different versions of Windows, is to first check the compatibility of DAQmx with the specified version of Windows, then make sure the device is listed as a supported device in the DAQmx Readme. Both the 2566 and the 6123 show up in the DAQmx 14 readme.
