PXI-5160 Oscilloscope Trigger

When using a PXI-5160 2-channel oscilloscope, is it true that the 2 channels cannot trigger independently of each other?

For instance, I cannot setup the scope card so that channel 0 and channel 1 can have their own independent trigger source. Where Channel 0 trigger source is Channel 0 and Channel 1 trigger source is Channel 1, and both of these triggers are enabled concurrently.

Or is this actually possible?

Hi jrkey,

You are correct that you cannot trigger each channel independently on the 516X family of oscilloscopes.  There is a single timing engine which is used for these cards and multiple triggers would require more than one timing engine.  An alternative would be to take a look at the PXIe-517X family which have reconfigurable hardware which can be programmed to function like you are suggesting.
