Hi,
That is interesting. I have heard of instances where the PXIe-8101 controller was sent back for RMA and had the OS updated to Windows 7. May I ask what questions you have on this? Would you like to order another one of those controllers with Windows 7 installed?

I'm going back a year or maybe more when we ordered one or two. I work for Test Equipment and sent all our documentation out for review. Someone had put in the old National PN for XP and our Logistic people caught it. They knew we were using Windows 7 and the PL called out XP. When I went to try and find ( on the web) the controller w Windows 7 on it I couldn't come up w one. Only XP and Vista. I thought it was a mis print. I even called National and they said the same as you. They don't sell 8101 w Win 7. In the mean time on a shelf in the back room someone found a 8101 still in the box. Outside it lists each compnent indivdually...the 8101 PN, windows 7 PN and the SSP. On the static bag inside the box is a label w the PN:199422E-012L .
My question is...for my PL..is this the correct number for Win7 shoudl we need to order a replacement in the future??
Why isn't it listed on the web?
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Clint1000,
It looks like your part number refers to PXI-8101 controllers we sell that come with a "localized OS": http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/374607a.pdf. This means that it can come specific operating systems (in another language, for example) installed on the device. It seems reasonable that Windows 7 is a commonly requested OS for that controller.
Do you know if someone at your company specifically requested to have Windows 7 put on that device? Are you interested in purchasing more controllers with Windows 7 or are you just curious if your controller was a legitimate NI product?
Thanks,
