I have a strange issue... My PXI 8135 cannot boot when an ethernet cable is plugged into the eth0 device. It turns on ok but right around the time the bios message pops up the system resets. It will proceed like this indefinitely. I unplugged various things, but eventually isolated it specifically to that specific issue related to the eth0. A cable plugged into eth1 does not cause the problem. I tried factory resets, pulling the controller out of the chassis and back in, etc. etc. But always the same result.
I can't see any obvious sign of damage or burn marks in the ethernet bay, and the really odd thing is that if I unplug the cable until the system gets past the bios screen and begins to initialize, I can then plug it in and the networking is fine! But it is far from ideal because the system is deployed remotely and should it go down it will require a manual visit.
I have read about possible issues... maybe just needs a new bios battery? (best case scenario) Or possibly some additional power draw or grounding issue right at startup causes issues but thereafter the system performs normally... anyway, any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks in advance,
Eric
