PXI 8176 processor locks up periodically during application operation. The configuration is as follows:

Other application specific facts:
TCP/IP communication wth a Client CPU over the 8176 ethernet port.
Fieldpoint device communication over the serial port.
During operation of the application, the processor hangs. If I attempt to close the executable, a message appears that "..the application cannot be closed. If debugging, close the debugging tool."
Timing of the hang is not consistent. The problem was first noticed while the Fieldpoint modules were being initialized (closed), but this only happened occasionally ( 1 out of 20 attempts). Since the application had not yet launced the DAQ portion of the program, the Fieldpoint controller was replaced.
Problem still persists, and has now also occurred during data acquisition, when Fieldpoint modules are not being accessed. Application was in Data Acquisition mode for 3.5 hours before the processor locked up. Is the MXI card a suspect, even though this has happened when MXI was not transmitting data?

he same application is used for a single chassis configuration, which has uses the same Datum time card and six 6071 E cards and therefore does not use the second chassis. We have not seen the lockup occur in that configuration.
