PXI-8186 Hard Disk Upgrade

Hello everyone,

We have an old system based on a PXI-8186 Series controller and its HD is almost full (9% left). I would like to upgrade to a larger HD but I'm not sure this is feasible.

Has anyone done this, and what is the suggested method?

Typically, the process would be to create an image using the existing HDD and get a replacement larger HDD and restore the image.

 

An alternative method would be to start from scratch, remove the existing HDD, install the new HDD, install OS and set up the softwares.
