PXI Controller reboot from MAX stopped working

I have a PXi-8196 controller in which periodically needs to be rebooted (will post another message on this issue).  For the past 8 months, I was able to reboot using MAX through the remote systems link.  In the last week, this method no longer works.  The controller goes offline, but MAX can not reconnect.   I have to physically power cycle the controller.  (The controller has a static IP configured.)

Does anyone have any ideas on what could be the root cause of the problem?

Hi ssto,

Do you have a monitor connected to your PXI-8196? If so, when you choose to reboot your controller from MAX, what does the monitor display during bootup? Does everything seem to boot up correctly? Does it acquire its assigned IP address?

I connected a monitor to the controller and can see what's going on in the system during the reboot.  On a failed reboot, the system doesn't seem to be rebooting at all.  It looks like it has lost internet connectivity.
