Hi all,
I am having trouble seeing my PXI switch over a network using the VISA server.
On the server side I have a PXIe-1071 rack containing a PXIe-2593 switch and a PXIe-8301 Thunderbolt 3 controller connected to a laptop running Windows 10. In MAX all devices are visible and I can control the switch using the NI Switch front panel. The VISA server is running with the permissions set with the wildcard "*".
On the client side I have a Windows 7 PC that, in MAX, under 'Remote Systems', I can see the server pc > Devices and Intertfaces > PXI System > and under that 'PXI0::1::BACKPLANE "PXI_rack" '. I cannot see the PXI switch which I would expect to see as the next level down.
Is there something that I need to do on the server side to allow the client to see the PXI devices?
Thanks in advance,
Pete.

Hi Pete,
Have you had a look at this knowledge article:
How Do I Control My VISA Device from Another Computer? - https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA00Z0000019LfHSAU&l=en-GB
I am not sure if this is your case, but you'll need NI-VISA or NI-VISA Runtime installed on the client computer.
Cheers!
Rob
