I have a PXIe-1063Q and it is connected to a separate PC by MXI Express x4 board. I want to automatically power-on the chassis before the PC is turned on and have it power off automatically when the PC is shut down.
I have tried using the MXI Express x4 board to power on the chassis. However the program I downloaded from the NI support forums (Document ID:3X9GNCD8-MXI Express x1/x4 for PXI Express Powerup Options) couldn't detect the system controller thus it couldn't work.
I can power-on the chassis automatically by using the Inhibit Mode Switch but cannot have it turned off (unless I use the Remote Inhibit and Voltage Monitoring connector). If I turn off the switch using circuit breaker without powering off the chassis first, will it bring any damages to the PXI? Is there any other way to cope with this problem?
