Hello,
I have an NI PXI-1073 chassis that I would like to mount with the front of the unit oriented upwards. In the normal orientation, the unit uses a fan to force convection in the same general direction as natural convection. The data logger will be located in an air-conditioned lab environment.
Will this mounting direction cause any issues with overheating and are there any other possible concerns?
Thanks!

Do you mean a PXIe-1073?
As long as you follow the cooling considerations you should be fine. There just needs to be enough clearance for ventilation.
