Hello,
We're suddenly facing an issue with our PXIe-1085. The chassis switches on when the controller is plugged in and the system boots normally, it also powers up in inhibit mode when the controller is removed. However, both front indicator and back fan LEDs remain off, as shown in the images attached, putting the measurement modules at risk of overheating.
In an attempt to fix the issue, I followed the troubleshooting instruction in the link below with no success. Additionally, I have tried to update the chassis firmware through NI MAX but the update button is not vissible on the application.

What else can I try to resolve this issue?
Thanks!

How do you know that the chassis powers up without the controller installed in inhibit mode? Is the fan running as long as you power up?
Power On Empty PXI/PXIe Chassis states that:
When the switch is on, the backplane controls the power supply on/off state. This allows you to circumvent the controller and turn the chassis on or off manually. When it is on, the power supply turns on when you press the front panel power switch. When the power supply is on, holding down the front panel power switch for about one second turns the power supply off.
Did you press the power button to turn it on?
Besides, can you share the screenshot of the NI MAX that shows the missing Update Firmware button?

Thank you for your reply ZYOng.
What made me say that the chassis powers up is that I can hear the internal fan of the PSU module running when there is a controller and in inhibit mode when the controller is removed. Additionally, when in inhibit mode, while the controller is removed, you can see the LED on the PCB which the modules connect to going on (as shown in the image of the front in the original post).
Reading the info in the link you provided, the chassis does not respond to the power button in inhibit mode. I’m not sure if this is an issue as reading the manual of the PXIe-1085, page 2-14 in the link below, I gather that setting the inhibit mode switch to manual would power up the chassis unless an active low signal is supplied to pin 1 of the “Remote Inhibit and Voltage Monitoring” connector.

Also, please find attached a screenshot of chassis’ NI MAX menu.

We are facing the exact same problem with our PXIe-1085 Rack. No LEDs und no fans spinning, but all modules are powered by the PSU.
Has anyone managed to fix the issue and repair their PXIe-Rack?
Any help or hints would be highly appreciated!
Thanks!
