PXIe 4140 Current AutoRanging

Hi,

I`m having some problems with current ranging on the PXI 4140 cards. I am sweeping voltage from -6V to 6V and i have set the niDCPower property node to AutoRange current but when i set the current limit it seems to fix the current range rather than autoranging. 

For example,

10uA current limit the current range is set to the +100nA to 10uA

100uA current limit the current range is set to the +1uA to 100uA

1mA current limit the current range is set to the +10uA to 1mA

I was hoping that by setting a current limit of 1mA would mean that the current would autorange to the lowest current possible and then limit at 1mA. So in the image below from -6V to 0V in the 1mA range would measure the same as the blue line rather than the higher values as measured and shown in the grey lines.

Am i missing something in the settings?
