PXIe-5450 cannot generate standard function

Hello, I bought a PXIe-5450 that will not generate a standard function. If I open the soft front panel, it loads with a standard function and I immediately get error:

-1074135039: Instrument error detected.  Call the PREFIX_error_query function and examine the error code and error message parameters for additional information regarding the error.

Invalid Output Mode - NIFGEN_VAL_OUTPUT_FUNC not supported on this Signal Generator.

I own a few of these and have no issues with any others. I changed slots, chassis, operating systems, and installed another side by side with no issues from that one. If I switch to ARB mode then I have no issues. I run into the same error when running with python nifgen.

The only thing I can think of is that this one came from a PXIe-5673E(the others did not), and maybe the firmware is really old? Is the newest firmware available?

Update: I upgraded to NIFGEN 20.0 and saw no change. Found the firmware updater in the IVI library, and the 5450 has the newest firmware listed, from 2010, but I updated anyway. Same result. I know I can use the ARB functions for the same results but I want to figure out if the device is "good".

Maybe models for the PXIe-5673E limited in some way? .

Try Self Test and Self Calibrate, if there is some error using those, better to reach out to NI Support for repair.

Self test and Self Calibrate passed with no issues. I performed a full external calibration and everything passed, it just does not seem to have standard functions built into it. Any other ideas?

Try comparing the hardware and firmware revision. As you suspected, it could be that the ones paired with PXIe-5673E were specific for that application and some features are limited.
