PXIe-8135 & PXIe-1078 hard crash on boot

Hi all, I have a problem with a PXI controller that crashes hard upon boot occasionally.

There are no memory dumps, only an assertion printout in the terminal.

It is a fairly new corei7 based controller, perhaps some timing/thread safety related issue?

Perhaps I am missing something obvious?

See the attached picture.

Another crash, slightly different with an ISR priority exception. See the attached image,

Perhaps I got it to work, now the controller seem to be booting without crashing.

However, it is worrisome that an unmodified ni-rt.ini file can cause boot order / dependency crashes.

  1. Delete the ni-rt.ini
  2. Reinstall all RT software packages.

So for people out there experiencing the same problems, try this one out and see if it helps.

This worked for me on my ancient PXI-8196.  Its seemed to be a side effect of upgrading the whole thing from 2011 sp1 to 2012 sp1.

Thanks!
