Hello All,
I am having a strange issue with my PXIe-8135 monitor compatibility. First I've been running the unit with a VGA rack mount monitor and going through a display port converter dongle, worked with no issues other than some HF leakage most likely caused by the dongle. After hunting and waiting for a order to come in for a native display port rack mount monitor I ran into a few issues.
First the monitor was set to run DP1.2 and it would not display at all on the controller. After hooking it up to another system I was able to see the OSD and switch it to 1.1. After doing so the monitor would work within windows but would say blank during POST. I was able to see the POST again with the older VGA monitor, I looked around in the BIOS and found nothing which could help the issue.
Looking at other sources related to this issue it appears that it might possibly be a compatibility issue between newer DP monitors and older GPUs. However DP1.1 is an older standard than the controller. Some GPUs offer firmware updates however I see nothing with the embedded one on this system. Related to all this I have the BIOS updated to the latest version and I even did the 'vulnerability' update in some vain hope it would work.
Help would be appreciated. From what I've seen in the 8135 manual it won't state the DP version, but looking up the GPU is claims to support 1.1a; so I don't think my monitor is 'too new'. I don't plan on tinkering with bios settings all the time but it would be nice to have everything work on one monitor. Despite not being able to view the POST this new monitor does no induce noise on the system so I want to keep it.
Kind regards,
