NI PCIe-8361 MXI/bridge card.
I have two PC's with this new type card in and they both give the same problem: When running MAX, MAX either crashes if I have a NI PXI-GPIB card installed or MAX will return an error when trying to drive a NI Sig Gen from MAX. When I change to an earlier version of the NI PCIe-8361 card the fault dissappears. The cards are driving a NI PXI 1033 chassis.
There is a difference between the versions of the NI PCIe-8361 cards.
The new type NI PCIe-8361 is small, made in Hungary, has numbers 195315C-01L, 195317B-01, 2006 on it (does not work!).
The old type NI PCIe8361 is large, made in USA, has numbers 191376C-02, 19137BB-01,2004 on it (works).
What is the difference between these two versions of 8361 cards?

Hello,
I have to say your case is very interesting. Your old card (2004) is a Rev.B of the PCIe-8361 which was recalled in 2005:
"A small number of NI PCIe-8361, 1 port MXI-Express interfaces were shipped without a series resistor populated. This results in a variety of symptoms including but not limited to: blue-screens, system hangs, reduced performance, problems assigning resources (Error Code 12 in Widows XP), and/or problems detecting PXI modules. "
However, your new card is a Rev.C which should be more solid than the Rev.B, does not work on your system...Apart from the changes made to Rev.C as described above, there could be other changes to the card such as the logic and components, also your Rev.C card is of low profile as well.
I would make two suggestions:
I hope this helps,
