I have what I am lead to believe is a new PXIe-8880 that has been sitting on a shelf for 4 years. I have a new PXIe-1071 chassis.
When I first tried to fire this up I got a "Invalid system disk" message. I have pressed SW 1 and that caused a series of restarts before returning to that original state. "Del" does not take me to bios. The battery is holding 2.9v.
Any suggestions on how to get this up and running?
Thanks,

Hello Ed,
From what you have described, it sounds like the disk either has nothing on it, is damaged, or is trying to boot Windows but has LabVIEW Real-Time installed. By default, it will try to boot Windows. You should be able to access the BIOS by pressing delete at POST.
If that is not working, try a wired keyboard or a different USB port. If none of the USB ports allow for keyboard input, then the controller may have hardware issues. Pressing F2 at POST will bring up diagnostics, and you can test the hard drive from there.
If you want to run Windows, you will need to install it from a USB drive. Windows 10 works well. F10 brings up boot order, so you can select the USB drive to install Windows from. You will need to install the PXIe-8880 drivers and any NI software you want to use after Windows is installed and updated.
If you want to run LabVIEW Real-Time, connect it to a host computer/controller and format the disk through MAX >> remote system.
PXIe-8880 User Manual (Found under the "Manuals & PDFs" tab)
Firmware and Additional Drivers
Create Windows 10 Installation Media
Hope this helps!

Thanks,
Fortunately we just purchased a new piece of NI equipment and now have support. Trying to get an update package from NI. Otherwise need to clean install Windows. Currently not seeing a USB boot option, but I do not have a bootable USB drive to plug in at this time.
Thanks.
