I would like to confirm if the PXIe8301 module is compatible with the NI PXIe1073 and PXIe1033 chassis, this is for calibrating PXIe7732 and PXIe4080 modules in the laptop.

PXIe-8301 is compatible with any PXIe (note the "e") chassis that has an open controller slot (slot#1) but not compatible with PXI chassis

🚫PXIe-1073 - has an integrated controller and no Slot#1 and hence not compatible with 8301

🚫PXI-1033 - not compatible with 8301 due to different bus protocol PXIe vs PXI

As Santo_13 mentioned, PXIe-1073 already comes with an integrated controller hence you only need a host interface card.

1. To use with laptop, you need a laptop with ExpressCard slot and an ExpressCard-8360. The ExpressCard has long been obsoleted and is not available on most modern laptops.
2. Use PCIe-8361/2/3 but this can only be installed on a desktop.

If you have a laptop with Thunderbolt port (Thunderbolt, not Type-C), you can get a 2-slot PXIe-1090 chassis.
