Is it possible to use a cPCI chassis to control a PXIe chassis through a MXI
interface?
I have a cPCI controller in a cPCI chassis and I want to expand the bus to
include a PXIe chassis. I do not want another controller for the PXIe chassis.
I want to control the PXIe chassis with the cPCI chassis.
Is this possible? What products do this?

jdjd,
To clarify: you're talking about a cPCI chassis, not a cPCI Express chassis, right? For a cPCI Express chassis there are several MXI kits that will work.
If you're talking about going from PCI to PCIe (PXI to PXIe or cPCI to PXIe) then it's not supported. There are some cards that can make the connection, and they'll work in many systems. There are also ways the host may configure things that can cause bluescreens (or corrupt/lost data if the system ignores fatal errors). So there's not a supported way to do what you're asking, but there are ways of doing it that might work.

Correct, I am talking about a cPCI chassis, not a cPCIe.
Thanks for your reply.
