I am using a PXI 6509 card in an NI chassis, paired with an unshielded R1005050 cable connector. When connecting this setup to a PXI 6059 and testing with MAX, the PXI shows random signals at the digital input. The issue seems to be related to signal interference, which is exacerbated by the wire's susceptibility to disturbance, resulting in random signals. To address this problem and effectively use the cable, I need to find a solution to reduce noise. What are the potential solutions to shield the cable and mitigate this interference?

You can eliminate it by connecting an actual signal on the other end of the cable. You must not leave a cable open and try to read the inputs. Alternatively, add a pull-up or pull-down resistor on the inputs to pull the line to a known state when the cable is open.
