I need to connect the wires in the RS232 female connector on one side and other side the RS232 is connected to the device.
Can PXI supply 12V supply to the device?

Thanks for the question. I'm assuming you're using an RS 232 card in a PXI chassi, for example the PXI 8430? Since the RS 232 standard is spec-ed for up to 25V, and assuming you have a RS 232 port on your PXI chassis somewhere, you should be able to supply 12V to the device.

Yes I am using NI PXI 1031 and the PXi controller 1081 which has RS 232 but the device I need to connect with RS232 requires 12V supply is it possible to get 12V from PXI to the device or I need to supply another power supply.

If it's a RS 232 port, it should be able to supply 12 V whether or not the 12 V comes from PXI or your PC, or any other sort of PCI/PXI serial card.
