Test Digital I/O modules of CompactRIO

I have CompactRIO 9004 with four modules.

I installed and configurated my device and I tried to test digital Modules.

I wrote a little VI to switch on DO 0 on NIcRIO 9472 (Digital Output Module) and It go ok!!

Than I tried to link DO 0 of NIcRIO 9472 (Digital Output Module) to DI 0 of NIcRIO 9421 (Digital IMput Module)

and I modified my VI like in Attachment.

The DO go ok and the led on module switch on, but DI doesn't work, the led of DI 0 doesn't s switch on!

Is it an hardware or software problem?

how can I understand how link the two module in the rigth way??

Hi Ocramm,

the attached picture reports the 2 schematics you should refer to when making connections to Digital Input cRIO-9421 and Digital Output cRIO-9472.

The 9472 is a Sourcing Output module and it should work with no problem with a Sinking Input 9421.

In order for the connections to be right you should:

- Wire DO to DI

- Wire COM on the 9472 to COM on the 9421

- Power the DO line using a 24V power supply that go to COM and Vsup on the 9472
