Hi
We have an 8102 controller that we benchmarked at around ~ 40 MB/s transfer rates to the hard drive. Limited by the 5,400 rpm disk that is in there. For a stream to disk application, we were hoping to be up in the 50 - 70 MB/s range to be able to aquire all the data that we need.
I understand that the HDD that is in there now is connected by a SATA I connection, rated at 125 MB/s, but it is a custom flex that connects to the drive. If we were to upgrade the hard drive to a SSD with transfer rates that will exceed the rated SATA I connection. Will we be able to saturate the SATA I connection and approach the 125 MB/s limits?

Hi ShaunS,
As long as your SSD can write to disk at that rate, you should be able to get pretty close to that 125 MB/s limit.

That is good news. Thanks!
