Why "get control value" method sticks to the first read value?

Hi. I'm using VI server and the "get control value" method on a VI running on my PC (local) to read one indicator from a VI on a PXI-RT system (remote) running on my local subnet. The first time I run my local VI it gives the right values, but when I try to repeat the process the invoke node only gives the same values of the first time, in other words, it doesn't update. How could I solve this? Thank you.

Hi Daniel,

I need to ask some questions then I may be able to assist you with your issue. First, does it ever update after the first read? Are you sure that your real time application is still running? What version of LabVIEW and LabVIEW RT do you have? What PXI Controller do you have?

Do the LabVIEW shipping examples that involve VI Server communication work (Such as VI Server Manager Application)? Have you tried any of our example programs from our website? With those I am just curious if they function incorrectly as well. Let me know and we will go from there. Have a great day!!

Hi Allan. It seems that NI-VISA server on the RT machine couldn't start (I don't know why), but I uninstalled it and now my application runs well. Thank you for your kind answer. Regards,
