Will real-time 9.0 run a 7.1 executable

I have several older PXI-8140RT units with real time 7.1.1 running a target executable. I recently had the need for an additional PXI and received a PXI-8183 with real time 9.0.1 on it. Will the 9.0.1 be capable of running the existing 7.1 executable or will I need to create the executable in LV 9.0.1 to be compatible?

Hello,

It really depends on how you are communicating with your RealTime controller. If you are simply using shared variables or TCP/IP to communicate between the target and your Host, you should be alright. If you ever change things on the target, you will need to recreate the executable with the updated versions.
