A virus corrupted the winlogon.exe file and now the system fails with an error C000021A when trying to boot. I have no CD-ROM drive attached and cannot get into the system to restore the winlogon.exe file. The boot floppy disks stop when they can't find a CD-ROM drive.
This was usefull but; I do not have a domain to log in to so was unable to access the ethernet network. Also, the drives were formated as NTFS and therefore unaccessible from DOS.
Try these two KBs: KB 2IKA5RLS , KB 1X0H52KS. These show how to set the bios options to not look at the CD, and also how to create a boot disk. You might also look to the Microsoft web site for help creating a boot disk that will read NTFS files.
