Dear All,
We have a cryogenic system which has a defined set of Analog & Digital I/O , we need to design a control system based on the operating modes of the system.
To design this control system we have two options which needs to be evaluated.
1. Control system using PLC.
2. Control system using PXI based system.
The cryogenic system is less complex with Temperature, pressure, Mass flow meters and some valves and heaters. But overall the operating modes are complex, with lot of PID loops and complex logic and since it is a cryogenic system the process is very slow.
To go ahead with system design with PXI what are things to be considered, since i am new to PXI based system design.
Is it beneficial to design the control system with PXI, if yes what are the benefits it can offer over PLC system design.
If anyone previously did a comparitive study please guide to proceed.
Regards,
Srinivas

hi..
if it is a slow process it is good to use the compact feild point controllers and input modules that has got good filtering and signal stability.
