labview 8.2 vision and motion

hello everyone i would be very greatful if anyone could help me

i have labview 8.2 and i am doing a product on a vision system

i would like to know how to get a camera to take a picture when it hits a through beam sensor using a daq assistant

Hi eamonnmcm,

What vision device are you using? Most NI Framegrabbers have TTL input lines that will allow you to recive a trigger signal from your sensor and then take an image. You should not need to use the DAQ assistant. If you do you the DAQ assistant, you are going to have to bring the event into the operating system, which is going to put a variable delay of 5-100 mS, depending on the OS used, what programs are open, how you have architected your code, and what the OS is doing at any given point in time.
