moving two 4472 boards from pxi to cPCI

I have two 4472 PXI boards that I want to move into a cPCI system. These boards are used in an acquisition VI and are synchronized through the PXI Star bus for simultaneous acquisition. I am using an RTSI line to trigger the start of the acquisition. My quesion is if I move these boards into a cPCI system, what lines will be availible to synchronize with? What should I use instead of the PXI Star bus to synchronize the boards and are RTSI lines still availible to use for triggering? Thanks

Hello,

CompactPCI does not have the synchronization backplane of PXI, as PXI builds on CompactPCI by adding synchronization, among other features. I believe you will lose the ability to synchronize on the backplane if you move the PXI modules into a CompactPCI system (though individually, the boards will work fine).

One alternative is to move the CompactPCI modules into a PXI chassis - since CompactPCI modules will also work just fine in a PXI system.

Regards,
Greg
