no video

hi

i have a problem with the VGA output on the PXI.when windows is loading the VGA operates correctly (video out on the scren),as soon as it has completed to intialize(load) ,the monitor(scree/display) displays black(no image or video output)

what do i need to do to reset the VGA setting or what do i need to do to make it work.

Hi Khotso ,

I am an Applications Engineer at NI UK and will help you with the issue you are experiencing.

Firstly, could you let me know what PXI controller you are using. Also, have you had a the same monitor previously working with the PXI.

One possible cause of your issue is that your controller is built upon the 945GM chipset or the 915GM chipset. Both these chipsets are designed for mobile systems. As a result of this when windows boots without a monitor plugged in the VGA port it will try and display on a internal LCD screen which is not present. Updating the BIOS should solve this problem by forcing the controller to display on the VGA output. There is a KnowledgeBase article on this which can be found at:
