pxi 8196 - Reboot due to system error when trying to detect 6653 as RIO device

Hello, I have:

PXI 8196

PXI 6031E

PXI 6723

PXI 6653

I have the following software installed:

DataSocket for LabVIEW Real-Time   4.2

Intel 8254x Ethernet Driver       1.1.1.3.0

LabVIEW Real-Time   7.1

NI-1394 External Drive Support           1.3.1.3.0

NI-DAQmx     7.4.0

NI-RIO RT      1.2.0

NI-Sync           1.2.0

NI-VISA         3.3.1

NI-VISA Server          3.3.1

NI-Watchdog   2.1.3

Traditional NI-DAQ     7.4.0

From MAX I can see the following:

- Remote Systems -> NI-DAQmx Devices -> pxi-6031E and pxi-6723

-PXI System (NI PXI-8196) -> Chassis1 (PXI-1042) -> pxi-6031E, pxi-

6723 and pxi-6653

When I click on "NI-RIO Devices" from the "Remote Systems", the Remote system restarts and it says:

Reboot due to system error.

Redirecting output to log file."

I've already tried formating and reinstalling the software. I've even applied the steps for detecting a RIO Devices from the link:

I've tried moving the cards around, but can't get MAX to detect the 6653 as a RIO device in MAX.

Does anyone have a solution?

Hi Tony

Why are you looking for your 6653 as a RIO device in MAX? That card should be showing up as a VISA resource in your PXI chasis. RIO devices and the RIO driver are for all of our FPGA products, such as the Compact RIO.

Because the 6653 has FPGA. We need to upload codes to the FPGA of the 6653.

I apologize Tony, I was not aware that card could be used as an FPGA target. I found a knowledgebase that addresses this problem; it may be a case of your card being an older revision and this functionality not being supported.

Tony, what are you trying to do with the 6653 FPGA? It was available as an FPGA target in LV 7.1.1 but isn't supported in LV 8.0 and above. I'm interested in your application and whether there's another way we can solve it.
