Abstract: Explore the research activities and initiatives at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and how they are being integrated to develop a comprehensive, data-driven, open, collaborative framework for advanced grid research. Examine four projects: (1) the Software-defined Intelligent Grid Research Integration and Development (SI-GRID) platform, which is a low-voltage, three-phase, microgrid research platform; (2) the Continuous Data-Driven Model Development Framework, which combines machine learning/optimization and real-time co-simulation to “learn/tune” device model/control parameters; (3) Grid Self-aware Elastic Extensible Resiliency (Grid-SEER), an FPGA-based, real-time, or faster high-fidelity grid simulator; and (4) the Complete System-level Efficient and Interoperable Solution for Microgrid Integrated Controls (CSEISMIC).
Speakers:
Mark Buckner, UT-Battelle, Group Leader, Power and Energy Systems Research Group
Michael Starke, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Power System Research Engineer
