Aerospace Robotics Testbed

Alliance Spacesystems designed and built the robotic arms for NASA’s Mars Exploration Rovers which have been operating on the surface of Mars for over 5 years now. The arm, also known as the Instrument Deployment Device, is used to position scientific instruments on various targets of interest so they can be analyzed. This engineering hardware is now used by Alliance as an Aerospace Robotics Testbed (ART) to prove out new concepts.  This ground-based version is driven by labview and cRIO hardware.
