Camera Back-End Design With the SOM

ID: TS6361

Abstract: Examine the design of a portable X-ray camera working in single-photon counting mode at a very high frame rate. The camera consists of two readout ASICs communicating in the low-voltage differential signaling standard at 200 MHz. Also hear about a new approach for designing the camera using the sbRIO-9651 SOM controller board and custom PCB integrating readout chips bump-bonded to the silicon sensor, a power supply, and a variety of communication ports including USB, Ethernet, and Camera Link. All levels of the system (FPGA real-time OS and Windows application) are programmed with LabVIEW for fast developing because of the single software platform.
