Abstract: PVI developed a motion-based profile real-time control system running on a CompactRIO chassis using CompactRIO and SoftMotion hardware and EtherCAT-based motion control drives. With this system, you can run profiles based on footage to control system speed and external analog and digital control components. The user interface running on the host computer allows both static and dynamic editing of the profile you are running, so you can fine-tune your process in either mode. At this session, explore the system hardware, the host CompactRIO communication method, and the two SoftMotion control methods.
