Challenge: Developing a green, off-grid energy solution to power mobile phone base stations in rural Africa.

 

Solution: Using NI CompactRIO and NI LabVIEW to control and monitor the cracking of ammonia and using hydrogen fuel cells to deliver regulated DC electrical power, producing only by-products of clean water and nitrogen.
