Abstract: Today's technology allows for more intelligent consumption of energy than ever before. With much of the focus on generation sources, advanced meters, and communications, we have overlooked equipment that every consumer already has: loads. The electrical loads we are all accustomed to can now be made intelligent cost-effectively and yield benefits for both consumers and suppliers.
