Abstract: Massive MIMO is an exciting candidate technology for 5G. It promises improved capacity and energy efficiency by increasing the number of antennas at the base station. With a significant increase in antennas, Massive MIMO takes advantage of more degrees of freedom to address capacity and efficiency by implementing novel concepts such as conjugate beamforming, increasing spatial resolution, and creating automatic 3D beamforming. At this session, researchers from Lund University discuss how you can use spatial dimension, or the location of mobile terminals in space, to efficiently prototype a real-time testbed to investigate mobile systems going massive.
