Maximizing Lab Test Equipment Using a Client Server Architecture

ID: TS3459

Abstract: In many research and test lab settings, the NI hardware is assigned to one user at a time. This leaves DAQ resources unused and reduces available test time. By implementing a client server architecture for the DAQ software, multiple users can run tests asynchronously. This architecture has been implemented numerous times using NI CompactDAQ, PXI, and SCXI hardware. At this session, examine the architecture layout for both the client and the server side. Also review single-computer and multiple-computer solutions using TCP/IP to link the clients and the server.
