APIs and Abstraction Layers: Upgrading Without Breaking Existing Test Processes
Track/Summit: Transportation Summit
Session ID#: TS1766
Abstract: Upgrading test processes can be tricky, especially when an organization has invested in an existing test architecture. To avoid breaking established test flows, a good API and a solid abstraction layer in a system are crucial. Cummins faced this problem when upgrading its hardware-in-the-loop test system with a newer, more efficient software test engine. At this session, discover how Cummins and Ball Systems near-seamlessly introduced this new component as well as what hindered and what aided the transition.
