Speaker: Martin Levesley (Pro-Dean for Student Education, University of Leeds)
In 2009, the University of Leeds School of Mechanical Engineering in the UK undertook a review of its curriculum and concluded that the university needed to introduce hands-on “design, build, and test” activities across the curriculum. Since then, Leeds has worked with NI to successfully implement many curriculum changes through dedicated efforts and a strong partnership between staff, students, and industry. This has resulted in improved employability and satisfaction among students while providing increased opportunities for staff and students alike. Hear details of the new Martian Mile challenge and other similar design, build, and test projects that Leeds has successfully developed and implemented.
