Speaker: Joseph Morgan (Professor and Director, Texas A&M)
The new mechatronics program in Texas A&M’s ETID Department is accepting students for the fall 2016 semester. The department is developing Mechatronics I and II as system integration courses. After an extensive technology search to support these two courses and design Mechatronics II to build on Mechatronics I, the program chose NI’s reconfigurable I/O hardware and LabVIEW software. Mechatronics I uses myRIO for the ASEP robot, and Mechatronics II uses CompactRIO technology for its laboratory projects. This session provides an overview of the MXET Program and highlights Mechatronics I project successes, lessons learned, and future plans for myRIO/ASEP activities.
