Most electronics education worldwide teaches wireless communications with a typical focus on communications theory. At the University of Southampton, educators are taking a different approach to teach students the practical aspects of communication technology and better prepare them for their careers in research and industry. Students focus on the rapid prototyping of a wireless communications system with live RF signal streaming. With this practical approach, students gain valuable experience in manipulating live signals for a greater understanding of wireless communications and its real-world challenges.
