Take a peek into one of the dark corners of LabVIEW’s attic to explore XNodes. Review the more familiar concepts of XControls and scripting before diving into the definition of XNodes as well as the pros and cons of using them in your code. Even in situations where XNodes are not practical, their underlying scripting concepts can be tremendous time savers and have a profound impact on coding efficiency.
Thank you so very much to all that attended I had a real good time giving this presentation. I've updated the first post to include the code I demonstrated, including several XNodes that I didn't have time to present. All demos that are available on LAVA or NI have their source URLs. All demos run in LabVIEW 2015 except for the VIM examples which use the new Type Enabled Structure, which didn't exist until 2016.
As for where do we go from here? I'd suggest any XNode specific questions can be directed to LAVA over on our scripting board. You can post XNode questions on NI's forums, but since this is not an officially supported feature, NI will likely not be able to help anyway.
