Speaker: Steve Seiden (Senior Engineer, Acquired Data Solutions)
Detecting tunnels and drones for defense and security applications requires detecting extremely low frequencies (<10 Hz) in the presence of electromagnetic interference (EMI). Traditional vibration sensors such as accelerometers, LVDTs, and proximity probes can perform lower frequency measurements, but they are more susceptible to noise. Attend this session to learn how new, patented technology from the US Navy is integrated into intensity-modulated optical sensors to provide increased sensitivity and accuracy with immunity to EMI. Also explore how these sensors are deployed to measure critical vibration data for the performance of a marine vessel drive shaft.
