TS9630: Hydrogenerator Air Gap and Magnetic Flux Monitoring Using CompactRIO

Speakers:

Ozren Husnjak (Research and Development, Veski Ltd)

Ozren Oreskovic (General Manager, Veski Ltd)

Discover how the CompactRIO hardware platform is used on more than 30 power plants for online hydrogenerator air gap (stator and rotor geometry) and magnetic flux (shorted turn) monitoring. An adequate rotor and stator geometry is vital to the safe unit operation and, since it's influenced by a lot of factors, namely mechanical, magnetic, and thermal, the continuous online monitoring of its nature is growing more important. This is especially true nowadays with the downward trend of the nominal air gap due to the bad rotor/stator geometry that has a more prominent influence on the hydrogenerator operation's stability.
